Wrong. It`s the best service for a reasonable cost.
The cheapest usually run out of money, and can`t pay their workers.

That´s Conforta, Confortservi is a different company.

Just 1 car patrolling the area does not seem like much, what about this other company of wannabe cops, Maxima Something? I´ve seen them driving around the area quite a lot.

I don't think that that is what the EU public procurement law says.

Maxima currently hold the contract let I think by the Ayuntamiento when Fadesa went into liquidation to provide security services. They patrol about every hour and cover the whole of the Urb.

We found some plug in mossie repellers in Leroy Merlin. They are not the sort you put a tablet in but rather emit a high pitched hum, which you do not really notice and also have a faint red glow. We always keep one plugged in beside the bed to try and deter the little blighters! Can't remember how much they were but only a few euros each.

Good luck!

Pat

Thanks Pat. Do you think they are more effective than the tablets?

The EU Procurement rules (which would be enacted into Spanish law and so may be differently interpreted) state that public sector (and utilities) must go to public tender if the value exceeds a certain amount (around 150Keuros for services when I last was involved). The award criteria should also be published - they are usually VFM these days (although 'economically most advantageous' is still sometimes seen). The definition of 'public' can be interesting and can sometimes just mean >1 tenderer ;).

We are out in CE for the last week in April and are planning to go to the Feria de Abril in Sevilla (28th April to 3rd May this year). However, traffic and parking in Seville is problematic at the best of time so I was considering using public transport.
Anyone on the forum got any advice. eg
Train from Huelva - what's parking like near the station?
- times & costs etc
Bus from Ayamonte/Huelva - times & costs etc
Parking on the outskirts of Sevilla and local transport
etc
I sometimes wish this was a thread as ISTR the topic coming up before ;)
Although, on balance I really like the Costa Esuri chatroom as it seems more friendly (usually) and immediate somehow.

Hi Mike J:)

You have a bus everyday from Ayamonte-sevilla at 9.30 am, the price is about 12€ person .

I use to park in the Ikea parking in Bormujos (5 minutes from Sevilla) .The bus service to the center is every 15 minutes.

We took the bus from Ayamonte into Seville a couple of years ago, and I think next time we go, we will take the car ! The bus stopped at Huelva, and it just seemed a long trip, especially on the way back.

We are just off to catch the flight from East Midlands to Faro this evening, and looking forward to another two great weeks at Costa Esuri. To anyone else out over Easter, if you see us in the bar (and we expect to be there frequently ! ) do come and say hello.

Don't forget that in Seville feria all the casetas are private, apart from half a dozen municipal type ones where all the dregs of society hang out!!

Maybe you already have an invitation to some of the casetas, but if not you can't do very much except walk up and down feeling hungry and thirsty cos they won't let you in anywhere!

Hi,
Take your car. We did 2 years ago and parked in one of the multi story car parks by the river with no problems. Spent the morning in Seville. We had coffee at the 'Hotel Alfonso' had lunch near the Cathedral. Ladies, Gentlemen and Children immaculate in flamenco dress were making their way to Triana all in friendly mood and willing to be photographed. It is AMAZING. We took a horse and carriage ride to the feria.[It is quite a walk] Take a your own food and drink. There are bars on the outskirts. Accept the cassettas are private. Just go and soak up the atmosphere. The Spanish are there to PARTY. We hope to be there again this year too!

This might be the most hassle free option: M&C Travel based in Islantilla does a trip to Seville every Tuesday and Saturday, cost is € 30 per person (kids 25% off). They use to do pick up´s at Isla Canela, Maybe Costa Esuri by now.
Perhaps send them an email: [email protected]

Objections can only be submitted individually by hand at the Town Hall to be recognised. No emails, petitions or post will be accepted. We have from today until the 8th to present objections if you feel that inclined. Perhaps this will bring new interest to the area as a unique selling point. One of the public posters is attached.

Can anybody else confirm this?

Hi Graham,i have also seen the application.Could be a good be a good thing.
