your lucky to get Christmas presents this year!

With the number of airline disasters lately, the CAA now sends an inspector to the North Pole to check out Santa Claus's sleigh before allowing him to fly on Christmas eve.
Christmas Santa
The inspector arrives and checks the reindeer and they look good, he checks the harness and it looks okay, he checks the sleigh and it is also okay. Then he says, "Santa, lets take it up for a check ride and if everything looks good I'll certify you to fly."

Santa hitches the reindeer up and taxis onto the runway and just as he's starting his takeoff roll he looks over and notices the inspector has a pump shotgun on his lap. "Hey! Whats the shotgun for!?" Santa yells.

The inspector says, "Well, Santa, I'm really not supposed to tell you this, but there is going to be an engine failure on takeoff."

Happy New Year

Ray

Hi,

I recently completed on my plot on Costa Esuri. Does anyone know what annual/ongoing expenses or taxes are levied on plot owners?

Thanks

Stephen

You pay council tax on the catastral value of the plot. Mine was valued at €26,000 and I paid about €150. If wealth tax is finally abolished there will be no national tax to pay since you do not pay renta on a plot (my Gestoria confirmed this with the head office in Madrid) I will have to pay a one off wealth tax of €248 since I completed in Feb 2007.

Welcome to the plotters club are you going to start building?

Thanks for the information. Did you receive a council tax notice or are owners required to work it out for themselves?

We are not planning on building this year, but 2010 is a possibility. We are planning to come and check out progress at Costa Esuri in the Spring. Does anyone know what is happening with the Hotel (i.e. is there plans to complete).

Thanks

Stephen

Exclamation Re: COSTA ESURI - AYAMONTE

Happy New Year and I hope a good one for all.
I dont want to be a downer but a word of warning to anyone driving down via Barcelona. On a busy motor way we heard a bang at the back of the car and then a black BMW pushing us to the hard shoulder making the tyre seem to wobble. We were slightly suspicious but were then blocked in with a man gesturing to the tyre. When my friend got out she was grabbed and another man crouching down opened the back door and took a handbag from the back and tried to get other items but my friend broke free.
The police say it happens all the time to non spanish cars and the will throw a large stone at the car to distract you (We have the dent ! ). Sometimes they even have police uniforms on. It was scary and happened so fast .... so be prepared.

Why would you want to drive to Ayamonte via either Madrid or Barcelona this sort of thing happens a lot around those cities.

Guardia and local police do not use unmarked cars on motorway patrols.
You should never stop on a motorway anywhere over here, if you are in doubt drive to a motorway station then stop near the pay kiosk.
If the cops are not genuine then they will not follow.

everybody used to help people that had problems while driving when they needed in Spain but not now. If you see something, calling the police is the best you can do due to nobody knows if it's real or if just want you to stop. It's a pity because some times is truth, sometimes someone really needs your help but, after being deceived or after hearing about someone who has been robbed, you daren't.
Be careful .

Hi Stephan

Has your plot had the water, power and gas connected. I purchased mine early last year, but still have none of the services connected ?.

Regards

Dave
