I got myself a job at the La Sonrisa beachbar where a befriended band called "T-Bag" plays live every saturday afternoon. This is them playing at the Costa Esuri golfclub: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtgREzfduu4

Hi Jur

Glad you are OK but sorry the Waterproof is not around anymore, it was good fun..........all the best for future interests.

Hi Mel,

I can help if you are interested in a boat ride up the river. PM me and I can send you some details.

The 'new castle' in Castro Marim presumably refers to the recently re rendered and hence bright white castle you can see just to the West of the old castle where they hold the medieval festival at the end of August.

I don't know if any one caught the program recently entitles the Trial of the Knights Templar but it gave a potted history of the movement, was very interesting and enlightening and a guest who stayed with us recently and has researched their history was quite interested in Casto Marim as this is reputed to be one of the places the knights escaped to when they were about to be wiped out by the King of France. They got away in their fleet from La Rochelle with all their wealth around 1307 (I think) and no one knows quite where they ended up.

So if any one fancies a bit of digging around the castles in Castro Marin please apply to the Mayor.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks for the info Steve, we went round the old castle and it seemed strange to have another so near.

Re boat trips I will PM you as we like to go up the river when we are over and I can leave the details in the house and put in on our web site for visitors.

With thanks

Mel

There´s a nr. of companies doing trips from Vila Real de sta.Antonio up the Guadiana river. I don´t have any exact info but if you get in touch with Bart at the Isla Canela Tours office, I´m sure he can help you along. PM for contact details....

An existing jeep safari organization started Buggy Trips which sound like a lot of fun! For any info another PM...

Hi Reptonian

Have used most... but for good value have a look at Auriga Crown or Amigo Autos. Both easy to access on the web where you can place booking within a couple of minutes.

Not usually too far to walk from Terminal to car either.

Good luck

Just a tip if using Auriga Crown at Seville airport. I have noticed that when we pass through the arrivals at Seville heading to the car park there is always a long queue at their desk.
So if you have luggage to pick up, leave the none driver to collect it while you go straight through and deal with the car. It could save a long wait ;)

Just to clarify matters, regarding the charity bash on Saturday, I am not doing the catering, they had a kind offer from someone to do it all free of charge.

With regards to the registration with MF, I have heard a rumour today that they are extending the deadline by 20 days. When I hear something for certain I will post it on here.
