But Golf as a destination of itself should be in that list. Think of California, Florida, Cyprus, Dubia, Portugal and a lot of the newer destinations to the east. They all have Golf tourism that is accessible to a beach but not at the beach. I agree there should be other facilities such as equine sports, soccer pitches and tennis courts. There was supposed to be land available for these at the top back of the site perhaps alongside the other hotels I think it is still there it depends on the Ayuntamiento not allowing the conversion to housing use. Though there can't be much demand for extra units for many years to come.

Could be a problem as the council are discussing taking back as much Esuri land as they can to minimise any loss resulting from MF probs

Thats good there is a small area at the bottom of the town houses on my plan which was for school use very central on the site and would have made a nice small nursery site but just lately has sprouted a sign by Fadesa saying to be developed for houses. Who needs more and what world have Fadesa been living in for the past 18mths

i think that after reading some of the post that have been written in this thread by some people, there must be almost nobody, with good sense, who wants to invest in CE. The advance in CE depends, largely, on us, on what we demand, on the time we spend there, on the way we talk about the complex...
i agree with many of you. I am very glad to have bought a house there and any of the negative post is going to make me change my opinion about CE, i like the weather, the people, the town of Ayamonte, the food... i like everything there. I am accustomed to have to use the car even when i just want to buy bread, so, the fact of not having a shopping mall near doesn't matter at least, for me, but when people think about investing in somewhere, searching in internet is the first thing they will do and when they write "costa esuri" the first link they found is this thread and there have been a lot of negative posts here, enough to remove the desires of any person of buying something there.

Your new bread shop is less than 100m up the hill behind you with lots more besides.

I find it odd the way the British demark a place in Spain. They seem to want to give the name of the Bloque of apartments or at best the Urbanisation. If people ask me where we are building the house I always say Ayamonte. They then ask where it is since very few have heard of it and I say right on the border with Portugal and some reply that they have been to Isla Canela can it be near there?

I think of it just like here in England we live in Milton Keynes but there are sub districts such as Bletchley, Wolverton, Stoney Stratford etc. but when asked all but the snobs would say they live in Milton Keynes. So I will live in Ayamonte very close to some great places such as VRSo, Isla Christina and Villa Blanca. That is what makes it a great place two countries miles of endless suger sand beaches and very interesting places close by.

It does help to have a car but you could get by without and if that little shuttle bus could be extended to the golf club car park it would be economical too.

Yes, you are right. CE is just a part of Ayamonte and is the nearest to Portugal. i love to be in the middle of two countries, separated simply by a bridge and with one hour of difference between both, that means that when you get up late in the morning you can be still on time to have lunch in the other side, in Portugal.
When i talk about buying bread i am not talking about me, it was just an example because people seem to be very worried about it. I usually go to Punta del Moral on foot so i can buy it on my way to the beach, and now, as you say, there are places where buy near my house. There was none opened the last time i was there, so, living there is even better.
When i bought a house in CE, i wanted to have a house near but not in the beach, i was looking for somewhere in where we could rest, where we could enjoy the weather, the people, the calm... Living in the beach implies, for instance, having to change the machines in the house very often due to the saltpetre spoils everything among other problems, so living near the beach but not in there is the best choice, at least, for me.
Well, my limited knowledge of the English only allows me to say that i love to have a house there and that i love to have met such a good people :)

My you do get up late!! :lol:

Saltpetre is a lovely word almost not used in Britain anymore but very descriptive of the blue rind you get when a plumber is using flux to solder and copper exposed to salt air.
