Could be. But Spanish tourism - and I think this applies to many nations too, but lets stay national - breaks down into three general areas:
Beach - the closer the better City - for sightseeing Rural - for quiet getaways. Course, there are variations on a theme - such as health spa type places but they fit in to all categories above. I think a chain more suited to opening up simply on golf courses will be the ones best placed to take it on. Fuerte themselves could be interested and it wouldn't be a bad bet, but what sort of land is available with the Esuri hotel? Golf based hotels away from beaches tend to like have land to build sporting add-ons such as football training facilities etc.. |
Re: COSTA ESURI - AYAMONTE
Could be a problem as the council are discussing taking back as much Esuri land as they can to minimise any loss resulting from MF probs

By the way I pronounced it wrong it is Duck Mohanwala: - Marinated Duck cooked in korma sauce with cheddar cheese & mild spices. Are you backup to full strength yet? Or are you still doing everything at all hours? |

I don't recall seeing any type of marketing about Esuri here in the Uk other than through selling agents. Does anyone know otherwise? Tony i agree with many of you. I am very glad to have bought a house there and any of the negative post is going to make me change my opinion about CE, i like the weather, the people, the town of Ayamonte, the food... i like everything there. I am accustomed to have to use the car even when i just want to buy bread, so, the fact of not having a shopping mall near doesn't matter at least, for me, but when people think about investing in somewhere, searching in internet is the first thing they will do and when they write "costa esuri" the first link they found is this thread and there have been a lot of negative posts here, enough to remove the desires of any person of buying something there. This is just my opinion ;) regards, marisol |

If people ask me where we are building the house I always say Ayamonte. They then ask where it is since very few have heard of it and I say right on the border with Portugal and some reply that they have been to Isla Canela can it be near there? I think of it just like here in England we live in Milton Keynes but there are sub districts such as Bletchley, Wolverton, Stoney Stratford etc. but when asked all but the snobs would say they live in Milton Keynes. So I will live in Ayamonte very close to some great places such as VRSo, Isla Christina and Villa Blanca. That is what makes it a great place two countries miles of endless suger sand beaches and very interesting places close by. It does help to have a car but you could get by without and if that little shuttle bus could be extended to the golf club car park it would be economical too. |

Do i sniff a small problem down at the Oracle? You seem to be spending more time on this thread than would appear healthy for an editor of a local free sheet.
So, do you want to enlighten me how you would do things, oh Great One (looking for a reverant smilie but there doesn't seem to be one) |

When i talk about buying bread i am not talking about me, it was just an example because people seem to be very worried about it. I usually go to Punta del Moral on foot so i can buy it on my way to the beach, and now, as you say, there are places where buy near my house. There was none opened the last time i was there, so, living there is even better. When i bought a house in CE, i wanted to have a house near but not in the beach, i was looking for somewhere in where we could rest, where we could enjoy the weather, the people, the calm... Living in the beach implies, for instance, having to change the machines in the house very often due to the saltpetre spoils everything among other problems, so living near the beach but not in there is the best choice, at least, for me. Well, my limited knowledge of the English only allows me to say that i love to have a house there and that i love to have met such a good people :) |

Yes, you are right. CE is just a part of Ayamonte and is the nearest to Portugal. i love to be in the middle of two countries, separated simply by a bridge and with one hour of difference between both, that means that when you get up late in the morning you can be still on time to have lunch in the other side, in Portugal.
