Hi Laslopeady

Sitting in Pepitos in LaLota square on their wifi listening to a bit of Jazzy music over a coffee - nice atmosphere....(the golf club internet is dead for a few days)....

Just off to see John from John and Kath at Jags place, so sorry I dont have a lot of time. If you search my posts you will see that I posted about an excellent osteopath in Ayamonte. Not exactly a chiropath but they have similar techniques and youget massaged with an osteo as wel!

I know this isnt what you asked, but just in case...

Regards
Jon

Sorry - that was just my evil streak

Here we go:
The Bad News
THE MAYOR - now giving me runaround, his office have promised me interview or answers within 24 hours.

The Good (in fact quite incredible!!!) News
FADESA - are issuing me a press statement specifically aimed at Esuri owners to try and calm things down. I took the questions from peoples posts on here - couldn't ask too much, so I had to summerise. They promised to issue it in the next 48 hours. This is major as Fadesa have traditionally avoided speaking to the press unless they absolutely have to. That the head of press took the call himself I find stunning!!!!

The weekend's papers made interesting reading. It seems that MF had wanted to do this back in January but the government didn't want them to as the election was imminent. They made a pact to hold off the announcement and when the time came after the election the government would step in to help. They reneged on that promise, apparently. This leaves MF furious as had they gone ahead with the voluntary administration in January, the government would in all likelihood have lost the election.

As far as we are aware, ADA were awarded the "Official Management" status, but Fedesa had not handed everything over to them yet.

ADA had sent us and all others they had contact details for, a "Copy of the Minutes" of the initial meeting (See Link). They then sent everyone a DD mandate to start taking payments, but then they said they needed to wait for the full handover from Fedesa, which obviuosly hasn't happened. I bet if we offer them money to do something they will jump at it, but ask them to do something free gratis, then this is the response they give...?

I don't know. I go away for a couple of weeks to Sarajevo (now there is a place that is struggling to finish redevelopment, if you're worried about development in Spain, come here for a few days...) and I'm back to a load of doom and gloom RE: Costa Esuri and MF.

My take is pretty simple. Costa Esuri exists. It's an asset and probably one of MF's highest assets. It's not going to dissapear. It will be there for a while.

Even if MF go fully bankrupt, it's assets (and that includes anyone waiting to complete) will be sold on for as much as possible. This means some company will take over CE.

If they don't go bankrupt then it's business as usual. Albeit more slowly.

The people I do have sympathy for are those that are in limbo. Buying via an established company like MF should be about as safe as possible. And it is. I guess this show's there's risk with everything.

However. Any company that buys CE as an asset will see you as their first port of call for funds. Commercially it should make sense for them to ensure you complete.

Anyhow, it's all unknown at the moment. I'm going over for August bank holiday and if I don't have leccy on RVA 1, Mza 5 then I'll just drink cold beer from Ayamonte and cook on my BBQ.

I still think if you're in CE for the long term all will work out. It will take ages, but I always expected that anyhow (as do most of the people I've spoken to).

So I'm going to keep it real. Not going to close my eyes to this, but since there's bugger all I can do with regards MF and lifting itself out of administration OR buying CE outright I'll continue with my usual strategy.

That is to sit in the sun, shift from lager to red wine (hey no electricity I have to have something that can be drunk warm), take the odd cold shower and wait for it all to return to normal.

I will be in the Clubhouse for the Liverpool V Spurs game. I'll buy anyone a glass of tap water if they turn up.

There's no beggining to my generosity.....

Well said James, I agree. A few candles, batteries in the music box and what we already have, what more could you ask for. In our place we can even have hot water without leccy, so we won't end up smelly old drunks either...
