We too are considering the move back- been in Canada since 2002- not worked out for us- we feel like we have gone backwards so much in our careers- 50 & 51 age- miss UK terribly.

Frozen UK pensions

Just a quickie- I suddenly thought a while back what happens to any old company pension schemes from the UK once you left the UK?

Well you can transfer the UK frozen pensions you may have there...

Just wondered about getting car insurance again- do they ding you because you have been out of the country ( in our case 7 years)? Or will they take into account the full no claims bonus we had...

We landed 15th May 2002- we have bought a house and a car and are hoping to visit friends in the USA soon. I have read that you have to wait for 6 months before youcan cross the border. Is this true?
