We went back for my mum's wedding this year, one year after moving to Oz. I wouldn't have chosen to return so soon, due to the cost (!) and fear of being unsettled but didn't feel I could miss...

Having only visited Brisbane but living in Tas, I disagree, I really can't see many similarities between the two.

Very different climate
Very cold sea in Tas most of the year
Very little choice...
