There was quite a few things but I guess they could all be summed up by the standard of living, it is a million miles away from the UK and Australia. In hindsight I'm not sure what I was expecting...

Yes I moved to Penang, I have been there for 4 months but hated the place and regretted leaving Australia. Luckily an opportunity came up to move back :amen:

I've stayed at the Meriton on Adelaide Street before and that would be the first place I'd look to stay for a week or two before finding a rental, nice place and good location from memory.

That's good, 25 minutes is ok for a journey to work and I'm glad it's doable from the CBD as that would be my preference in terms of location. I'm just worried about the visa now...fingers crossed...
