this morning had a couple of dozen or more monarch butterflies basking in the sun on a branch of the gum...

I knew I should never had put the oil-filled radiator away last week, twas tempting fate.

yeah our resident "teenager" on the O35s footie team asked me if I had suncream on Saturday - I would have obliged had I been in me own car....but it didn't really warrant it as kick off was 2:45pm....

has been windy here all day and that is a cold blast at times, but in the sun it's roasting - behind glass at least.
summer it's not.......not enough flies and burning sun yet, not down to the 5...

warmer weather, longer days with the odd really heavy shower - so, yep, it's officially "four seasons in one day......" - ie winter just might be over :lol:
time to get the sunscreen budget worked...

yeah Metservice find it hard to predict how/when the fronts will hit - not their fault just the way it is.

I find that the three day rain map becomes a 6hr rain map sometimes when it is "just too...

Odd fog too - not cold stuff but there around all sorts of low-lying ground, seemed to come in over Orewa and was there when we played down in Northcote in the afternoon. Wish it had come down...

MrsL is such "hot stuff" that you could use her instead of the heat pumps, and if you get the kids running around the place, we'll all be warmed up very quickly.....:D

one thing though, sharp mornings and a cold house sure encourage them to get their clothes on first thing! :thumbup:

as long as it's still sunny during the day then that's OK, our house's heating system (that is 95% based on "solar gain") doesn't work too well otherwise......
enjoy the heat pump, I'll be thinking...

yeah yesterday was one hard one........


......frost that is. Even had to pour water over the windscreen to clear it - thick ice. A neighbour said that it was the worst they had seen here in 15...

thanks, it's affected the kids quite a bit but the rest of us just have to get on with life!
now I need to earn some money so we can go over for a holiday in the next couple of years. :)

three frosts on the trot seems on the cards - must be near to a record hereabouts.......
twas starting to get very cold at the airport earlier as Grandad and Grandma L got on their plane to Shanghai...

Great weather today and yesterday, just nippy in the wind/out of the sun.
Spent the afternoon up near Sandspit, by the beach with the football - just like yesterday, although I was being hacked to...

Mixed weather this w/e
Dried up nicely for coaching the midgets on Saturday morning but come the afternoon in spite of reasonable weather we had to play football on a paddy field........wet, muddy...

Oh Libby - maybe work could give you one of those base jumping suits, the ones that make you look like a flying squirrel, then you could jump off the nearest hill/tall building and glide into...

....memories of living in Durham with someone who left the windows open all night all year - ice on the inside is no fun, but at least we had radiators to put clothes on to warm them in the mornings...
