I agree, but it depends on how they respond when the arrive. Emigrating is a life changing event and people have the opportunity to be different from what they were.

I'm not sure I agree with your slagging off of people by guessing their fear of foreigners. Different people are triggered by different circumstances and is a feeling of disconnection to your country...

Canada Stats on crime rate for 2006 (http://www40.statcan.ca/l01/cst01/legal04a.htm) for Atlantic Canada. For 2007, I think we had 3 murders in NB last year.

I agree with some of this. In Canada the importance of networking for jobs etc is still very high. I also think when you move to the UK they are impressed with people who have worked overseas etc. I...
