Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Yes. IVA included in the presupuestos.
Of course I'm sure builders often don't include it, but being foreigners we made it clear we abide by the rules and want no surprises.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Just as a thought, I bought mine from an agency. They recommended a builder, who was from the UK living in Spain, to start off my renovations. He quoted an acceptable price and we agreed for him to...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Victoria, sorry, can't help you as regards public transport as I usually either rent a car or bring my own. By 'airport' I presume you mean Malaga as there aren't many flights to Granada. ...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Malaga airport is the one with the most flights and I have never used any transfer options apart from renting a car.
I think there might be one bus a day going that way, but not sure. I'd expect any...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

The Via Verde de Aceite goes through Martos. It is the old railway line, now a walking path. It goes between Jaen and finishes near Lucena.
There is a website for it.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Suggestion - go for a pre-dinner walk along the Via Verde. It's on your doorstep.

I've stayed quite a few times a little out of Martos and nearer Alcaudete at -
Apartamentos Turístico Rurales Vía Verde del Aceite (http://953560330-0.tupaginaprofesional.com/)

It's a good place...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Dawn,
I don't know which would be cheaper, mains water or from a tanker. But we just filled it from the hosepipe. Slow but no bother.

I also echo what HappyCouple have said though I don't live in...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

We have a larger full size pool and it costs us about 100 euro to fill it. We live about ten minutes away from Martos.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

I also had difficulties with a UK builder who was doing the original work on my house. The actual work he did was of a pretty good standard, but the admin and costings side of it was appalling. He...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

I've just checked the Alsa website (in English) once more and there is a bus for the 17th on there, but still for the 18th it says, "The travel date is too far ahead. No purchase possible".

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

I'm not sure at all with Ikea if you can just phone up and order, or even do it online. Can you do that if that's what you want? We always paid a personal visit and sorted stuff out face to face.
I...

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

We have ordered and had delivered stuff from IKEA, my kitchen for example. But I seem to remember then (2011) were at the northern limit near Alcaudete. I understand they do go further now.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Nicola, maybe you are checking the bus too far in advance. There is a bus the day before but none after on the website. Wait a day or two and try again.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Firefly car rental hasn't got the best of reputations though I have hired with them and received an ok service. I've found Malagacar and Delpaso to be the best out of a poor bunch.

Re: Does anyone live in the Jaen / Martos area?

Carrefour, at a shopping area called La Loma, is just off a dual carriageway, yes? If you...
