If the National is correct and CR had his passport held in sharjah and a travel ban, he can only travel thanks to another passport. He was married to a European after all so it is quite easy.

cheques were made payable to St Andrews not to CR in person. So the cheques would have gone into St Andrews bank account not CR's personal bank account. If CR was the only authorised signature...

does it allow you to use walkie-talkies legally? My UK 5 miles range WT got confiscated at AD airport. Where do you get such a licence and how much will it cost approx please ?

Is there a shop in Dubai like Halfords in the UK for car accessories ? I am looking for decent car mats and those I saw in ACE were dreadful. I have not tried the supermarkets yet but not very...

Thanks for your advice. We decided to pay in dirhams on registration. The seller lives in the UK but is here till next week. It makes things easier and less risky.
