Re: would love to move to nanaimo

Hi there,

Am in Nanaimo, raised by a Londoner and brought my wife back from when I lived in Japan. I deal with a fair number of international clients (I'm an estate agent) who are hoping to move...

Re: Scared to want this too much

These challenges are quite typical for someone who is moving over here. As a local raised by a Londoner father and as a Realtor who deals with people coming from the U.K. and other countries...

Re: Short term rental in Nanaimo???

I'm really surprised to hear this. Although I wouldn't say that there are a LOT of affordable rental vacancies in Nanaimo at the moment, I don't see why it would be hard to find one. Maybe you're not...

Re: House prices in Vancouver

Here, I think I attached this correctly...

Have a look at this. It is certain that things will go up and that things will go down. "When" is where the guesswork comes in but the drops in the US...

Re: House prices in Vancouver

Frank's right. They call it a 'buyers market' for good reason.

My refrain, regardless of what the market is doing, is that if you need a place to live you need a place to live. Just make sure you...

Re: Daft question about a dog!

I've lived all over the country. Let me give you a quick rundown of climates.

Everywhere is beautiful and nicely warm in the summer. Drier for those months out on the west coast than east of there...

Re: An offer on the house!!!

You're in Canada right?

Good luck, but as you say don't open the champagne yet as your buyer still has hurdles to jump over. In my area, there's about a one in ten chance of something preventing...

Re: MLS changing to.....

Yeah, that's right. They were orignally going to do it in May but they kept pushing it back for some reason. Dunno why.

FYI, (speaking as a Realtor) you'll save yourself a lot of time and hassle...

Re: Daft question about a dog!

Where in Canada are you?

I'm on the west coast and this just isn't an issue as your winters are just wet and not really cold. However I used to live in Nova Scotia and remember noticing that...

Re: Victoria, nice place

Yeah, Victoria's pretty nice, and there's lots of Brits there. The only downside is the seedy people downtown. I planned to settle there for many years but didn't want to raise my kids with access to...

Re: Canadian Ovens

Ah. We call those convection ovens. You can find them here, but you gotta pay a bit more for them and you might have to go to a larger store to find a decent one.

If you're a cooking nut like me...

Re: House prices in Vancouver

Hi there,

I'm a Realtor in Nanaimo which is just across the water from Vancouver on Vancouver Island.

It's been a little while since I've taken a good look at the Vancouver stats, so this...

Re: Selling our house

Ah sorry, used a term that caused confusion. I didn't mean anything about immigration status.

On the front page of the "contract of purchase and sale" the seller is supposed to check the...

Re: Selling our house

I had this come up with a listing I had last year.

It will depend on whether you are considered a permanent resident of Canada at the time of the sale or not. The person to ask on this is your...

Re: buying a house

I'm a Realtor out in B.C. and can't tell you for certain what the laws for Ontario are, as certain things do change from province to province. But for B.C. Startwin and MB Realtor's comment are...

Re: Hoping to Move to Nanaimo

Hi there,

I'll be straight forward, as this can only be interpreted as a plug for myself but I was cruising the internet and came across this page in this forum. I think it's appropriate as this...
