Hey everyone - I like the last post the best. I did go on the website you suggested but they really didn't have an answer to my question. I''m hoping plus ten years of marriage counts for something...

Re: Any hints from people recently moved back to UK from Oz??

Thanks for all the advice. I have booked a chap from Chess to come around this week to give us a quote and if there pricing is similar to the other two I have, then we'll go with them.

Your house...

Re: Main reason for moving back?

Yes, you hit the nail on the head with this one Brits1. When we went back to the UK last year for "the holiday" (that unexpectedly made us want to pack up sticks and return to the UK), we caught up...

Re: Any hints from people recently moved back to UK from Oz??

Strange but true, it's the first time I actually noticed it this afternoon, after visiting their website. I think it's possibly more a case of more is less - I tend to only concentrate on what I...

Re: Main reason for moving back?

Totally agree with this posting. When we moved to Brisbane at the beginning of this century we were in the throes of the "California Syndrome" that is sunshine every bloody day - not just endless...

Re: Any hints from people recently moved back to UK from Oz??

Re: Any hints from people recently moved back to UK from Oz??

Never heard of OZFOREX (sounds very suspiciously like an Aussie organisation as in Oz XXXX). Anyway will have a look at their website, thanks for the info. Am I right in understanding that you give...

Re: Any hints from people recently moved back to UK from Oz??

Ok, how did you get a rental so easily??? You've got to spill the beans as I don't really want to pay 6 months in advance for rent - only because I'd prefer to have the interest benefitting me. ...

Re: Child Restraints

Yeah, and I kind of think, it's more an insurance thing, that is not having a UK approved car seat means no insurance in the very unlikely event of an accident. UK and NZ/AUS standards would both...

Re: Need Some Advice

Yes, the visa, that's my bane, as you can't apply for it any earlier (or later) than 3 months before you go and we have to delay it again because my parents are coming over from NZ at the end of...

Re: back in UK 1 week - not having a great time!

It must be an 18 month old thing - when we flew back from our month's holiday from the UK to Brisbane, our 18 month old was sick on the entire flight, he just lay on me and my husband the entire...

Re: What will you take back?

When my OH left Heathrow airport 17 years ago he was given a can of Carlsberg beer at the airport. So I figure it will come back with him - unopened too, and extremely undrinkable too I imagine!

Re: Best time to move back to UK with a 4 year old

Re: the good the bad and the ugly, 10 of each please

Re: the good the bad and the ugly, 10 of each please

Was this under the good, the bad or the ugly - because I think they qualify for all three? I say this on good authority, given that I have just spent the last four years cleaning my four bedroom,...
