Re: whats rockley golf club like to live at

Ikon - you're right. I'm an avid road cyclist, and cycling here scares me. The only time I will ever go is 6am on a Sunday - fewer cars on the road.

Myself, I've almost been hit twice. Once was...

Re: visa

Ah, I see. In that case, you would probably be a recurring longer-term visitor (that's not an Immigration term, that's just something I made up).

Probably fairly easy to come to Bim and see if...

Re: visa

Technically, you just have to leave the island. When you return, you'll start over again with the 30-day stamp and then applications to extend. You'd have to show a return ticket at the airport, just...

Re: visa

The stamp you get in your passport at the airport upon arrival will mostly likely be for 30 days.

If you want to extend your stay, you will need to apply for a Visitor's Extension through the...

Also the Hope, ARK and RSPCA if you like animals.

Look for the British & Canadian Women's Associations... not sure if the American one is still running.

Re: Who actually gets work permits in Barbados?

You'll get better response if you post this in the Barbados forum, but I'll tell you what I know for now. Others will chime in also, as there are many of us who have been through this.

It's not...

Re: Seeking Work: Qualified, Experienced, Police Cleared British Nanny

I'm afraid you won't have much chance of getting a work permit to be a Nanny. It's not a job that requires skills that locals don't have. It doesn't fall under the Specialized Skills category.

Re: totally confused by laws

You would do well to hire a lawyer who specializes in Work Permits and Immigration. The rules, while they may be written somewhere, are not always consistently enforced. One person will have one...

Re: Moving to Barbados

I agree with Ikon.

A good number of the expats here are young families (which even puts me out of their league to a small degree - I'm in a relationship, but not interested in having kids, so...
