Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

A recommendation can still result in a denial though.

Re: Decorating for exPats

Do you have an EU passport or just British? Thanks to Brexit, you can no longer work without a visa, so unless you have an EU passport I'm guessing this is a non starter.

Re: E2 Spouse - Green Card?

OP still hasn’t been on the forum since 2024, so I’ll close this thread now.

Re: E2 COS

I'd imagine it's because you can't have two applications in for the same visa at the same time. You'd need to choose one or the other. But again, a question for your lawyer, as long as you trust them...

Re: E2 COS

I think you should take your lawyer's advice, that is what you pay him/her for after all.

FWIW, I wouldn't be considering a COS if you have entered on a B visa (I assume) and have had a previous...

Re: Red back bite

Thank you spouse of scouse. You are utterly lovely for taking the time to try and help but sadly it’s just a very persistent spammer that can’t take a hint!

I’m going to close the thread...

Re: USA Driving Licence

He says ESTA in the first post. So I assume spends close to the max of 90 days in the US, then back to the UK for a shorter period, and repeat.

Absolutely. I’d definitely not want to be on the wrong side of the IRS!

Re: USA Driving Licence

I don't think there's any specific rule about 6 months max, but certainly spending 8 months a year isn't going to be feasible longer term, at some point an immigration officer will think the OP is...

Re: USA Driving Licence

Those quotes probably aren't dissimilar to what you'd pay even if you had a US licence, with no formal US driving history. They're actually less than we paid as green card holders in our first year!...

Re: UK Pension notification.

Unlike most countries, where you can claim the state pension and whatever the equivalent is there, NZ only allows one or the other I believe. Presumably the NZ option is higher.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

It’s more a question of a change in circumstances, rather than a set amount of time. If nothing has changed then there’s really little point in applying again, the answers will be compared to...

Re: Family

I guessed correctly then! Yes, find out if she did formally renounce it or not - I'll keep my fingers crossed she didn't.

Re: Family

I'm guessing what 'fudnt' means, but guessing at 'hasn't' or similar? If so, then depending on how long ago she left, yes quite possibly. You being there would help with that.

Re: Family

I would double check that - it could make a BIG difference! If she did, then it's starting from scratch and she (or her husband, not sure who is in marketing) needs to get out to BC and start job...

Re: Family

Ah. Just to check, did she definitely give it up? She formally renounced it using IMM 5782? Or did she just stop using it and return to the UK?

OK, quite tricky then in all honesty. Do either of them speak French?

Their best chance is going to be getting a job offer with sponsorship, going on a work permit and then trying to get PR...

Re: London to Vancouver 20 years later,

I'm sorry, but I think your chances are incredibly slim. Even if you are admitted, are you aware of how long H&C applications take? It's 10+ years I believe at the moment with a huge backlog. That's...

Re: London to Vancouver 20 years later,

You may be be more likely to be rejected (although I'm not sure I agree with that - border officers aren't going to wave you through just because you have a couple of cute kids with you!), but the...

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

It sounds like his visa has been refused (a verbal approval/mention of sending for a waiver means nothing I’m afraid), but can you post a photo of the form so we can look and try and clarify for...

Re: Family

Which province do you live in? You're not likely to be able to help them in any way (there's no sponsorship for adult children, only dependent children), but there are a couple of provinces where it...
