Keep us posted and...

Re: returning home

I think that's very true.

I lived in Spain for two years. Everyone I met out there has now moved on. Some to France and some back home. Most cite not being able to deal with high crime rates...

Re: Where should we be? No man's land?

Would you have to live right in London? There are some great and very commutable places in the burbs with great schools.

One thing I've had to stop myself doing is comparing salaries and vacation...

Re: Soooo Miserable here!

I had to go through this recently for my medical bills when me and OH separated.

Work out a min payment plan with them. Even if it's only $5 a month they have to accept it. Work out what you can...

Re: Guess What??

Maybe you're just getting all your bad luck out of the way now, so that when you come back it'll all be smooth sailing.

Moan away and feel good about it! :) You've had a tough time but you've made the first step towards the journey home. Sit down tonight on your bashed up couch and treat yourself to something wet...

Re: Soooo Miserable here!

I won't venture into the whether or not you can move your child as I have no clue. JAJ is good at that sort of stuff.

Why don't you become proactive in planning a move back. Write down a sort of...

I'm on a 12 step prog. Just got a new job, horses leave on the 19th and I'm trying to save.

I could live the rest of my life and never visit Spain again too. ;)

Re: Family Expectations

I had an aunt with Motor Neurone Disease. It's an awful disease, I think the cruelest there is. This was in the 80s when going to Switzerland wasn't an option but I know that had she had the option...

Re: I wonder what the future holds....

Re the phone calls. I have VOIP (Lingo) It's about $20 a month for unlimited calling to the UK. It's so advanced you can have a UK number so that when people call you it's a local call charge.

Re: I wonder what the future holds....

If you're not sure about where you want to be and depending what line of work you're in, what about being a contract worker that takes you overseas but doesn't base you there permanently?

Re: Family Expectations

I get that with friends who visit. They're thrilled that the £ gets them so much $ but don't get that I live here and really can't live like a tourist when they're over. It was the same when I...
