No doubt you know this but If its your main residence to avoid CGT you need to live in it for 3 months...another chunk to the life sentence :sneaky:

Hi we really want to move back to scotland and are starting to look at shipping companys etc.

We are building a house then have to live in it for 3 months to avoid CGT .... if we haven't sold it...

Ye 30k does sound alot :sneaky:

I read that the QLD government have capped commison at 5% of the first 18K of sale price then 2.5% of the balance ..plus 10% GST...not cheap but hopefully not 30K...

Hi ..to be honest the move kind of fell in our Lap...a few men my husband worked with had been for an interview with a large Oz company offering permanent residancy sponsership and a 12k relocation...
