Realistically - yep a working holiday visa for 12 months is your best bet, maybe try and get sponsorship over there, but it will be a tough climb upwards.

Moving solely based on days of sunshine sounds like a really bad idea to me though - it should be part of the pull factor but not the sole one, no offence Gere.

If you want dry and sun you're probably best looking at Adelaide, they are supposed to be very much like the med there with long dry sunny days, little rain,...
