LOL. I have a 2 year old son (and 7 yr old and 5 yr old daughters). My son's first words were "Soarin', Flyin'" - perfectly in tune too :blink: Show's how often HSM got played in our house :rofl:.

Its one of my daughters' favourite TV shows ("H2O: Just Add Water" - the show about mermaids) - and the locations used in it are stunning. I know its The Gold Coast, but was wondering where exactly....

I thought from my reading that we would be sacrificing the $7k FHOG - but it was worth doing as property prices were continuing to rise and we would be better off sacrificing this rather than waiting...

In answer to some of the Qs posed:-

The article was extolling the benefits for immigrants investing prior to emigration, i.e. from the UK in our case.
We have PR visas so FIRB approval is not,...

Ask that the property is taken off the market. If they know you're ready ie you have a mortgage in principle and are serious then the seller should...

We have had a house on the market since Dec, only 12 views - the first offered £20k less than asking so we rejected. We wish we had taken it now, but it was priced keenly anyway (£5k less than one...

I don't think validation counts against "unused visa" - its just to stop you making repeat flights with the higher allowance after you have settled in Oz, so you should still be OK to get the higher...
