Hi,
I'd recommend insurance for peace of mind...taking into consideration any excesses. We used Marine Insurers when coming over...ended up claiming over $3k !! Took a while..needed a few...

Looks like it's fairly unanimous :) I booked our flights with Emirates today... going to join their skyclub, or whatever it's called..so we can check in the day before..try and guarantee a bulkhead...

I'm already in Oz..returning to the UK. I know the Oz car seat probably won't be secure in a UK car as we don't have the centre bolt..but it'll do till I get to the shops the day after I return.

I just got a cheaper quote with http://www.bestflights.com.au

We're flying Perth-Dubai-Glasgow...most direct route for us. One way prices are shocking at the moment..was told they're not much...

Yup...it's for good :)

Looks like it's an overwhelming vote for Emirates huh.
Just a shame their call centre don't understand my accent ! I'm not having much luck with foreign call centres these...

We flew out with Emirates..couldn't fault them..never flown with BA/Qantas.

BA are cheaper - but 4hrs more travel..plus...

I'm 6mths into a 2yr contract with the 3 network - trying to avoid $500 costs (we're returning to the UK)....
