I know about the presumption by visa officers but the issue here is whether or not the B1/B2 visa is still valid or has been automatically cancelled given the denial of the student visa.

Henryh and Ian are 100% correct; I know for sure that the I-94 trumps the Visa, no doubt whatsoever.

Probably the immigration officer made a mistake but anyway you can stay until December 2012....

Wow! I am amazed really; it seems that immigration is starting to work fast in the US.
