When we were in NY at the vets to administer the tick/tapeworm treatment, the vet took it upon herself to call export of animals department or something (!) to check we had everything we needed...

We brought our 3 cats home in Sept 06 via QM2. Cunard will not accept pets that don't meet the PETS scheme on the day of boarding (their attitude is you are on UK soil when boarding...

We went with rinkens in the end (Wheatons extra storage charges etc were scandalous !). They used a firm from Houston to pack and load, they turned up 2 hours late !! But they did their best to get...

Our pets had had their rabies booster as per normal Aug 05, we decided to return to the UK in Jan 06 and started the procedure for PETS, staring with a microchip and same day, rabies shot again....

Your health certificate for travel can be done by your local vet (just to say your pet has been checked and is healthy to travel). Its seperate from your PETS scheme third country...

We get it all checked whilst we are still in the US, before we get on QM2 (at the terminal), so if any calls need to be made or f**k-up's need to be corrected it should :rolleyes: make it simpler...

How do you find out where a FEDERAL USDA vet is ? Do you have to travel miles or is this just paperwork in the post and you never actually see the Federal vet ?
