I can vouch for that. I did the CELTA course in Hastings and it was very intense. There is no doubt that it carries weight here in Italy when looking for a teaching post.

Hi there

The cost of utilities here in Italy are certainly no cheaper. In fact electricity is a little more expensive. If your not on mains gas you will have to install a tank in the garden...

Yes you can buy a rural property for that kind of money but it may need some modernising, but certainly habitable.

Yes your right, I lived in Rome for a year and it can be a tad expensive. Great place though.Stick to the Piemonte area me thinks

Try the Piemonte region. Property prices are good here when compared to the Uk and the people are pretty friendly. Getting a job here without the language is tricky unless you want to...

In my opinion if you come to Italy debt free 2 people can live ok on 1000/1200 Euros a month. The Utilities are no cheaper but wine and food is if you shop wisely

There really is not much in it. Electricla goods are cetainly not much cheaper. Its worth remembering that VAT (IVA) is 20% here.

I did exactly the same and have no regrets. If you choose Italy as I did I really think it pays to get some of the language under your belt first. Then you can really mix with the locals and enjoy...

There are some beautiful small towns near Savona like Finale. The weather is good for about 6/7 months but I have seen people swim in November. Property tends to be a bit expensive in Liguria....

Its very important to have some sort of English representation if you dont speak Italian. Information with properties can sometimes be vague in Italy and you need to know where exactly the boundaries...
