Re: UK TV Programs

Thanks Expatdoc, I ended up with ExpressVPN after a bunch or researching. $100 for the year didn't seem to bad to keep her indoors happy with her weekly Corrie binges :D

Re: What's the longest you've been out of the U.K.?

I've been back twice since I left in 1996. Once in 2001 and then again in 2015. 2019 might be the next time I go back as its my dad's 70th. I would go back more often but simply cannot afford it....

Re: How often do you visit "home" ?

I've been back twice in the 20 years I've lived in the US. The last time was last year and it had been 14 years since I was there. This time I went with my new fiancee and we did the whole tourist...

Re: Not sure where to post this, divorce question.

She doesn't remember any of that stuff (much to my annoyance) and her ex won't give her the info. The divorce was about 10 years ago.
I see there are some sites where we can put his and her names in...

Not sure where to post this, divorce question.

Ok, I'm engaged to a US citizen who was previously married to a Brit in the UK. She ended up leaving him and moving back to the US. Eventually her husband got a divorce from her and is now recently...

Re: Going back for the 1st time in 14 years!

Just got back and had no issues using my chip and sig card in the UK. Everyone was good with it being a sig card as there is a provision for people with difficulties that can't use the pin.
I even...

Re: Going back for the 1st time in 14 years!

Ugh this just sucks, so much conflicting information. I got in touch with cap one and they say they don't issue PIN's for US based cards. After plenty of research it seems that chip and sig is...

Re: Going back for the 1st time in 14 years!

I only have a Capital One card and all they do is chip and sig. My bank (credit union) hasn't even started sending out chipped cards yet.

I'll give a write up when I get back.
Another quick question....

Going back for the 1st time in 14 years!

Ok, so as the title says I'm headed back home for a vacation for the 1st time in 14 years. I have a few questions for those who travel back a little more often than I do
I have a chip and sig...

Re: Chip + PIN in the US! I used it!

I only have chip and sig card for my trip to the UK in a few weeks, guess I'll be using Apple Pay as much as possible. The G/F is taking a bunch of cash also so we should be OK.

Re: Chip + PIN in the US! I used it!

My cards are Capital One cards, their website states they are only chip & sig not PIN. From what I have read online chip & sig will work in 99% of places with only unmanned ticket booths/toll lane...

Re: Very cheap biz / first fares JFK-LHR on BA this Christmas

Re: Chip + PIN in the US! I used it!

This is good to know. I'm about to go the UK for the 1st time in 14 years and both my CC cards are chip and signature. Hopefully won't have too much trouble everywhere else in the country.

Re: Xmas Trees in Florida

Christmas is pretty crappy in FL, only one day off and no snow on the actual day.

You'll start seeing all the home improvement stores getting their Christmas tree tents up in the next few weeks. Look to spend between $50 and $150 for a tree from one of them. You'll have to have...
