Re: ANY WINDOWS/IT/LAPTOP EXPERTS HERE?

Lucky you because they're 10x worse to repair. I get most parts from the states because of Apple's price fixing. Apple's last innovative product was system 7.

Re: fancy taking my bike with me

Actually, there's set noise levels (same as cars) depending on age of vehicle, number of cyls, valves etc and the WOF tester uses a noise tester at 0.5m from the bike. Obviously if you know the WOF...

Re: Sending money from New Zealand to UK

Lol, it's the site I quite often cheque. I hadn't even noticed their "service" before.

I'd get stung twice on the wire transfer fee but for even relatively modest amounts it seems to be the one...

Sending money from New Zealand to UK

Anyone recommend the cheapest way of sending money back to a UK bank account? Come to think of it, I'm always buying stuff from Australia. It always amazes me that the Westpac is Australian owned...

Re: Emigration-why? You running away,or running to?

Well if you've ever ridden on a Scotrail train and then tried just about any train service in England (Anglia Rail, WAGN and most appallingly Virgin Rail and Southwest trains) you'd realise not all...

Re: Importing a motorcycle (or 2) to NZ

Basically if you like the bike, it's over 4 years old or non-Japanese then I wouldn't hesitate to bring it.

The GST exemption thing only applies if you have owned the bike for at least one year...

Re: How much money did you take/do you plan to take?

If you want free banking over here then try one of the Credit Unions or Savings Banks.

For anyone in the UK thinking of escaping, then it's a good idea to get a Nationwide Credit card and bank...

Re: New member - Hello all xx

Is it just me that finds it very strange and confusing? Currently there's about 4 permits and visa's on the passport care of NZIS and I've no idea what they're all for :-)

Re: New member - Hello all xx

Congrats & good luck. If you're experienced in IT (especially in a shortage area) then go for Skilled Migrant visa if at all possible. That way you get a residence permit straight away and then a...

Re: Reasonable salary expectations in New Zealand

Nope. I'm entitled to express my opinion. This is a public forum. Would I get so much abuse if I'd written "The NZ education system is fabulous"? Would anyone be asking me to back that up?

Re: Reasonable salary expectations in New Zealand

45K is do-able in Auckland BTW but only if the missus...
