Can I ask why you have chosen Auckland?
I can't comment on the areas where the expats live but by all accounts ease of commute and Auckland don't go together.

We originally flew for our recce with a 4 and nearly 2 year old and we did it direct on 2 flights through Singapore.
The kids weren't an issue as they had a screen and enough of their toys to keep...

Have a look at Sumner in Christchurch, lot's of expats there by the beach.
You have the Port Hills behind you with plenty of walking and biking tracks.

If you are looking at co-ed then I would look at Burnside and Cashmere personally.
You will likely need to be living in the school zone to get in to the schools.

Moved to Christchurch 12 years a go and still here even after all the earthquakes and rebuilding.

Been here over 11 years, lost my house to an earthquake and had it rebuilt in that period.

Been in Christchurch for over 10 years, lost the house to the earthquake but have rebuilt better than it was.
I wouldn't chose any other city in NZ. Wellington terrifies me after seeing first hand...

Yes Sky his shop is near the Bush In centre down Riccarton Road. He also has a warehouse out in Kaiapoi that has a bigger selection, Courtney Drive I think.

There are plenty of nice areas, so take your time and have a good luck around.
You could always look at the hill suburbs if you fancy a view. Riccarton road is having major roadworks next year and...

Pegasus is quite a commute and I am not sure how good Kaiapoi High is, I believe Rangiora is better.
If you are after a mixed school then Cashmere or Burnside are good schools in nice areas. We...

It depends what you are after.
I live on the hill because I didn't want the smog in winter and have views that I only dreamed of in the UK.
I commute to the CBD in 15-20mins so traffic isn't an...
