Re: Social Assistance (IMM1344) in relation to Job Seekers Allowance

Thanks. It is an unemployment benefit you can claim while looking for work. I'm guessing that this would count as Social Assistance in relation to this form.

Thumbs up Re: Fredericton - Work for the wives

Thanks to both JB0591 and airbornesapper for their input. I am familiar with UK security clearances so this insight into Canadian levels is of interest and likely to be helpful to me.

Re: Fredericton - Work for the wives

That's good to know, thanks. I guess I need to start putting myself about a bit to find out the potential. Interested to understand what dbd33 meant about Q1 Labs though. I did notice that they...

Question Fredericton - Work for the wives

My wife and I have been considering moving to Fredericton for several years now. During this time we've been holding off our decision primarily because my Mum who lived on her own had been ill. Last...

Re: IT jobs in New Brunswick

I believe Halifax is the nearest providing direct flights from UK. Failing that, I think Moncton or Bangor (Maine, US) have direct from Paris/Amsterdam?

Unhappy Re: IT jobs in New Brunswick

I guess the termination of direct flights to Fredericton doesn't help the situation either. :(

Re: IT jobs in New Brunswick

You know us, it's where we want to be. Just a few things holding us back at the moment. Maybe one day eh?:fingerscrossed:

One thing I have noticed is that although NB appears to need the people,...

Re: Zoom ceases operation 1800 today.

We've done just that and have managed to avoid booking with Air Transat. Last night we found a great deal with Air Canada. For £50 less than AT we also got complimentary meals and seat selection....

Re: Zoom ceases operation 1800 today.

Agreed and understood, but let's hope that the thresholds on the software are set low enough to work the other way to the same extremes when competition arrives.

Wink Re: Zoom. Heading down the pan?

We could do better by creating a separate thread for Air Transat/Canadian Affair, judging by the way they have taken complete advantage of the situation.

Re: Zoom Airlines go into administration

Prices for October have also risen by 30% so I suspect they may return to a more reasonable level at the earliest next year...if we're lucky.

Re: Zoom ceases operation 1800 today.

Too much of a coincidence for it not to be mean I'm afraid. We've been monitoring prices to Fredericton and Halifax almost daily and Air Transat/Canadian Affair went up £400 overnight for two adults...

Angry Re: Zoom ceases operation 1800 today.

Shocking news and more fallout is that Air Transat have taken advantage by putting up their fares to similar routes by 32% in the space of a couple of days. And if that wasn't emough for...

Re: Slower Shipping - The Cheap Way?

Exactly. We'd be in no rush to have our stuff arrive in the country as we plan on taking our time to find the right house to buy and even then can surrive on bare minimum until "ship comes in". So,...

Re: Slower Shipping - The Cheap Way?

We're heading for Fredericton on the East coast so I guess the ship would arrive in St. John or Halifax.

Question Slower Shipping - The Cheap Way?

I've read most of the "shipping" threads in this forum and have been shocked at the cost of moving things. I would guess that apart from sentimental stuff, most needn't have been shipped at that...
