It's funny but for me it's been the opposite - going from a job in the UK wearing a t shirt and jeans to one in Oz wearing a shirt and tie and often a suit! :( :( :(

Yes Kirribilli does seem an ideal place, I spent Sunday walking around there and it seems perfect. I will get a car, but as public transport here is so cheap and seems good, it would be a shame not...

At the moment I am staying in Chatswood and working in North Ryde. By the end of the week I should be mostly working near the airport (Mascot).

I just flew BA World Traveller Plus (premium economy and worth the extra 250 quid I think) and the limit was 30kg, I checked in 40kg and the attendant didn't bat an eyelid. You also get 2x 6kg hand...

I'm quite lucky (or not?) in that I'm doing an internal transfer with my company to Sydney. It's a permanent move (457 visa, 4 years), so they're shipping all my stuff. It was only 5 months ago...

The relocation guys are here in my house in Reading (UK) and packing my stuff, I will be flying out on the 3rd to start a new life in Sydney...

Excited, yet also bit scared and quite sad about...
