Re: Credit Card and lounge access

It's a bit of a downgrade, unfortunately. The easiest work around is getting status with an airline of your choice. It helps to save on lounge access by credit card. Seems like you travel a lot of 20...

Re: Staying or leaving?

Received some footage of things flying over my neighbourhood, but appears daily life in Riyadh continues. Watching it all afar from Malaysia really makes a move to SEA look very attractive in so many...

Staying or leaving?

What's the general mood? We got ordered to work from home from next week - many have rebooked tickets including yours truly to get out. Are people sticking around for the most part? The news back...

Re: Applying to international companies

Personally been contacted for every role her by recruiters. HR are notorious in the region for ignoring emails. I know very few who have had much luck with direct hiring.

Re: UK Engineer looking to relocate to the Middle East

Direct applications seem to go nowhere, speaking from personal experience. I've had more success building an extensive network on LinkedIn of recruiters in my field.

Communication isn't generally...

Re: British Expat considering a move to Bahrain or near

Those who keep praising the middle east for weather really need to calm down. The gulf Arabs travel to northern Europe in summer to get shit weather because it's so stinking hot here. Bahrain is also...

Re: Considering a move to Dubai!

Did you visit in the summer? Weather isn't conducive to outside activities. Very hot, very humid.

Re: NEOM Community Thread - for all questions about living at NEOM

Judging by the level of reporting, it's as if it's quietly being downgraded. I do know a couple of people who left to work there, and they are mysteriously quiet too.. don't follow social media much,...

Re: Heading back once again.....

That entirely depends if you are more of an insha'Allah or mashallah type of person upon setting your departure. The driving isn't as bad as I thought, Uber drivers however are all of the fatalist...

Re: Heading back once again.....

Check out invygo for some indication on lease prices for a car.probably isn't the cheapest, but acts as a third party platform, and no headaches with maintenance and whatnot.

As far as Uber go,...

Re: PIF Job Offer and What Should I expect?

Good luck, not sure "I'm single" is much of a leverage to be honest.

Re: PIF Backed Company Package

I see some on the neom thread discussing contractor roles. I have no idea how they work. All our contractors are south Asian, or seconded from our consultants.

Re: PIF Backed Company Package

So the contract is not with the employing company?

You have to self fund your stay whilst looking for somewhere permanent?

Yearly renewal is pretty common.

50k isn't bad, depends on sector....

Re: Qiddiya, Riyadh PIF Company (offer)

Qiddiya isn't a remote site like neom, so don't expect similar levels of renumeration. More equivalent projects to compare the grading to would be other Riyadh giga projects like Diriyah or new...

Re: Qiddiya, Riyadh PIF Company (offer)

ADs should be getting a package of about 70k+ I'd imagine based on what I know from other pif companies in Riyadh.

Re: Job hunting in Saudi - advice for dependants/spouses

Recruiters on that platform seems to be the way to go. Online applications have in my personal experience gone nowhere.
