Re: Border Control

Just thought I’d pop this in here as a follow up. I am sure there a plenty here who frequently cross the land border, but I arrived through Gibraltar yesterday with no checks and no stamps. Except...

Re: Border Control

You may call it naivety, but I call it common sense. Could you imagine the uproar that would be caused if, because of a erroneous passport stamp, they were chucking legal residents into detention...

Re: Border Control

I had mine stamped leaving Madrid, but not entering 3 weeks earlier. And again, no stamp on leaving Malaga prior to that. I'm surprised that Madrid, which is the biggest international airport in...

Re: Border Control

Just an addendum to this. Flew Madrid to London early this morning, handed over my TIE and passport, and my passport was stamped. I suppose it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things and...

Re: Border Control

I flew to Madrid on the 23rd with nothing more than a quick glance at my passport, this looked to be the case for everyone else on the flight from London. Yet, leaving from Malaga the week prior, it...

Re: Under the radar? Be afraid, (some) be VERY afraid!

Going from that Mirror article it looks like I’d have been denied entry if I flew to Alicante last week instead of Madrid. The formalities at Madrid were no more than a passing glance at my passport....

Re: Border Control

I flew Malaga to London on Saturday (13th) and can confirm all passports in the queue ahead of me were being stamped.

I am just waiting on collecting my TIE card, and I have a "Regresso" letter....

Best Credit Card for ex-Eurozone Payments?

Obviously this is a hypothetical/future question, as currently there are massive travel restrictions. Does anyone know of a credit card that has a low or zero fee for payments outside of the...

Re: Non resident in Spain

I would imagine that while the law says a UK passport holder legally resident in a European country can only spend 90/180 days in another Schengen country, there is no practical way to enforce it. As...

Re: Non resident in Spain

I’m often wary of using ignorance as an excuse.Yes, there is conflicting information out there and the press does not help at all. However, it is not that difficult to sift through it and find the...

Re: Non resident in Spain

I’m still surprised with the amount of people I’ve spoken to that have the argument of “Well I was able to live in Spain before the EU so I still can.” or “I’ve never known Spain to deport anyone.”...

Re: NIE appointment

I’ve been waiting for my fingerprinting appointment for about 8 weeks. My solicitor this morning said my appointment is for 5th March. Like most things in Spain, it seems you will get there...

Re: new "proof of residency" documents for flying back to spain

Surely his wife returning to her country of residence qualifies as essential travel? It would here in Spain and from everything I’ve heard from friends and family back home we’ve had a much stricter...

Re: new "proof of residency" documents for flying back to spain

Thankfully, I can always justify a trip to the UK as Business Travel, and surely I would be allowed to isolate at my parent’s home for 10 days?

Although I would wait until their age bracket is...

Re: new "proof of residency" documents for flying back to spain

Interesting, I received the approval letter quite some time ago but have not been able to get an appointment for the TIE (Estepona). I’m wondering if this means I might be able to travel back to the...
