We live in Viewbank, which is just the other side of the Banyule flats from Templestowe and I agree it's a lovely area....

You have to enter Australia before your medicals and police checks expire. Medicals and Police checks are valid for one year - so whichever expires first is your entry date.

That guy had a work visa for Aus, however it was cancelled on entry due to his criminal history and he was only allowed to enter Australia as a visitor, and was not allowed to work.

You are able to apply to any lender for a mortgage. We got our mortgage through BankWest eventually, and there was no problem.
