Re: Anyone in Villanueva de Tapia/Iznájar area?

Thanks for your reply. We arrived at the house in Villanueva de Tapia this evening and are looking forward to tomorrow night - apparently all the single folk in the village read out poems to each...

Anyone in Villanueva de Tapia/Iznájar area?

Hi, we bought a house in Villanueva de Tapia in May this year. We’re using it as a holiday home just now and plan to retire there in 2022. Until we retire, we’re trying to get over as much as we can...

Re: Simple SetUp Home WiFi in Barcelona - Advice Needed

Hi, we have a house in Andalucía (bought only in May this year for retirement in 2022) and use a UK mobile internet dongle from Three whenever we’re there. We get, I think, 20GB per month for £15 and...

Re: Learning Spanish

I studied Spanish at university in the early 80s and then, towards the end of the 90s, spent a short period of time in South America teaching English........ I was able to speak Spanish much better...

Re: Eurona

Hi Lincoln

Thanks for that. There seem to be a few shops in and around Málaga and, although we’re a little bit of a drive away, it probably makes sense to arrange things with someone face-to-face...

Eurona

Hi, we’ve been on the websites of various providers over the past week or so and have also been looking at posts related to wifi/internet/tv on the forum.

We’ve put the postcode in and neither...

Re: NIE - is it a card or a piece of paper?

Thanks for the reply. That’s useful and I think I’ll have a look at the app.

Re: NIE - is it a card or a piece of paper?

Hi Snikpoh

I see you’re “retired and loving it” and I’m a little bit jealous as we’re still doing the daily slog for another few years yet!

We’re at the stage of having had an offer accepted...

Re: NIE - is it a card or a piece of paper?

Hi, thanks for both the replies......... it may be that I'm getting confused with the residence card. I guess we should buy wallets for the passports and NIE sheet otherwise who knows how tatty...

Re: Bad at languages

Hi there

You’re probably not “bad” at languages (you seem pretty good with English!); you’re just not used to hearing and speaking Spanish....... and I’m genuinely not trying to be facetious here....

NIE - is it a card or a piece of paper?

Hi there

We’re in the process of obtaining our NIE (lawyer is dealing with it via a Power of Attorney). I’ve read on a few sites that it’s a piece of paper that you need to use along with your...

Re: Getting a survey

Thanks, Kieron. I’m glad I started this thread as I’d been thinking that an established, solidly built house that’s part of a terrace would throw up fewer issues than something newer. But a few...

Re: First Posts, HELP! WHAT DO I DO? etc. etc.

Hi lurchio

I kinda get your point but, as one of the other posters says, the search facility isn’t always straightforward. I came across this thread, for example, whilst searching for “Andalucía”....

Re: Spanish Language Apps

I did Rosetta Stone (the £199 one) and found it to be very useful, but I think you’d probably have to have a basic grounding in Spanish. I taught English in Ecuador once upon a time - I was by no...

Hi there

We’re thinking about buying a townhouse in southern inland Andalucía - round about the Iznájar/Archidona area. Initially this would be as a holiday home as we’re both still working...

Re: Getting a survey

That sounds lovely! I think if we were moving full-time then we might have opted for something a bit further north or nearer the coast. We’re working here until late 2022 and it’ll just initially be...

Thanks, Rosemary, for the welcome and to Smithy for the reply.

Getting a survey

Hi there

We’ve been thinking about buying a house in Spain for when we retire in four years but, in the meantime, we’d use it for holidays for ourselves and our family. We’ve seen something we...
