Same here, my husband and I applied in October 2021, he got his citizenship in December last year, I'm still waiting for my invitation to take the citizenship test!

For renting, perhaps proof of being able to make mortgage payments consistently would satisfy a landlord - they want to know you are responsible and will pay rent on time. So some kind of mortgage...

Single family homes in Vancouver are upwards of $2mill I believe, if you're lucky. Probably more if you want to live near downtown. If you have a large deposit and a good salary it might be doable?

I think it really depends on what exact job you're doing, where you are comparing it to and who the employer is.

My husband works in the tech sector and is earning about 1.5 x as much in Vancouver...
