What I would say is that this whole Canadian Resume thing is a bit of a myth a CV is a CV. LinkedIn and other Online sites have changed the way everyone looks at CV's.

Yes, whilst you can't get a WP at POE, your wife and kids can. That's what we did with no issues.

You mention that I can get the work permit at the border, how does this work? Once I get the letter from the AIPP that says "yes, we endorse you" I can use that to enter the country and get my permit...
