Re: Moving To Lanzarote (Elle1971)

LOL, did you read my response to the poster? My knowledge and experience is enough to know that FIRST the OP needs to indicate the legal right to move to Lanzarote and for me to ask whether he has...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

37% voted to leave.
35% voted to...

Re: Moving To Lanzarote (Elle1971)

I don't understand how someone can have the time to explain the rules but not the time to try answering the persons question.

DavidAdams16, what nationality are you, what passports do you have and...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

LOL, now if only they could apply that to Brits in Britain. Imagine getting rid of all the Brits in Britain who are not an asset to the country. You write as if the immigrants who have already...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

Bobd22, being a taxpayer does NOT necessarily entitle a person to a say in how that tax is spent(I assume you didn't mean paid). Being a resident does but if you are a non-resident and in the case...

Re: Retained Rights in the Event of Brexit

I think you may have 'some' grounds for optimism but I would be very wary of just what is meant by statements like, 'EU citizens in the UK by the referendum date will be given permanent leave to...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

Of course British citizens including my wife and I still have an interest in the UK. But if we have chosen to take up residence elsewhere, whether also taking up citizenship or not, we are not...

Re: Historic moment: EU Referendum

I have to say I am a bit confused by some of the comments I read here. Regardless of whether someone is in favour of the UK leaving or staying, some comments read as if they were talking about...

Re: Retained Rights in the Event of Brexit

Retained rights will do nothing for say a retiree who moved from the UK to Spain in the last year or two. As Cihadlo notes, you need 5 years continuous residence to qualify for Permanent Resident...

Re: Ramifications of Brexit on retiring to Portugal

I came to this forum expecting to find all kinds of posts on Brexit and how it will affect people today. Instead all I find is this one thread. Maybe everyone else is in shock.

I think you are...
