Re: How "Australian" do you feel.

Have been here for 54 years but do not feel the least bit Australian. Have had a good life here and would only say good things about it as it has been good to me but a Scot I will always be.

Re: How "Australian" do you feel.

The word has been Maroon during my lengthen life. My school colours were maroon and gold and my favourite fitba' team's colour was maroon. Neither were ever pronounced marone

Re: Roll Call...

Look in every now and again but don't normally post. I must say that it is good to see so many of the old crowd posting once again.

Re: The country we left behind

The best cause of action is for the Acts of Union to be rescinded. Scotland and England can then go their separate ways. After all they both want different things. England can leave the EU and be...

Re: So when does it "get better"

It will take you, if your like me, around 5 years to feel you belong and appreciate what the country offers, but again if you are like me, even after over 52 years you won't ever call it home despite...

Re: Did the UK do the right thing in voting to leave the E.U.

I don't pretend to be an expert on oil but I do know Scotland could support itself without it. It doesn't gain anything from it at present. Highly regarded experts have given a different assessment...

Re: Did the UK do the right thing in voting to leave the E.U.

Do some research on the amount Scotland gives to Westminster. The myth that Scotland is subsidised has been perpetuate for years, but recently it has been acknowledged that it is the other way...

Re: Did the UK do the right thing in voting to leave the E.U.

The only thing I want to say is Westminster has never been kind to the Scots and as the Scots parliament cannot borrow it has to balance the books with the pocket money that Westminster returns to...

Re: Did the UK do the right thing in voting to leave the E.U.

Technically they do, but not a very good idea. The Scots will have their referendum whether May agrees or not. Independence is the best thing that could happen to Scotland.

Re: Did the UK do the right thing in voting to leave the E.U.

Sturgeon wants it when the terms are known and at the same time as the EU countries vote. This means that May cannot trade away Scotland's assets to gain a better deal for the south of England.

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

If common sense is all that is required, why is it so obviously missing from so many arguments? Would it be correct to assume it had died?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

I had no idea what the electoral college was, so I did a little research. Each state has a set number of electors. Wont go into the rigmarole of how they get the job or how they are supposed to vote,...

Re: Andy Murray World #1

Your geography needs attention. Scotland is a sovereign country. UK is a political union only.

Thankyou all for your kind words. I don't think I am much different to lots of others. I suppose if I sit down and write it all, it might just fill a book. I do get angry when I hear how some asylum...

Re: Education Uk v Oz

To the best of my knowledge the only time you will find a dual stream high school is when the Dept. of Edu. decide to create a new selective school. They don't build a new school, they simply choose...
