Andy Murray World #1
Well done to Andy Murray who became world number 1 yesterday after reaching the Paris Masters final (albeit after Raonic had to pull out through injury). He has had Djokovic in his sights since the middle of the year and victories at Queens, Wimbledon, Beijing, Shanghai and Vienna (not to mention retaining his Olympic gold at Rio which doesn't affect rankings) and at least getting to the Paris final have seen him overtake Djokovic on Monday when the official rankings come out. Tennis has never seen a period with 4 such outstanding players (Federer, Djokovic, Nadal and Murray) and were it not for this Andy would have reached the peak a long time ago. He's the only Brit to be world number one singles player since the modern ranking system was introduced in 1973.
Ironically, his brother Jamie won a grand slam before Andy (Wimbledon mixed) and got to number one in the world before Andy (doubles rankings). I'm lucky to have hit with both of them and played their mother often!

Funny, I thought he was a Scot. Must have been misinformed.

Your geography needs attention. Scotland is a sovereign country. UK is a political union only.
I consider it to be an insult to be called a Brit. Here endth the the only lesson that you will hopefully require. Soar Alba!

When Lleyton Hewitt became #1 in 2002 I can remember all the debate was about whether he was Crow or Power, Adelaide or Melbourne/Sydney, South Australian or Australian.
For the record tennis is organised into a tour (ATP/WTA) and Andy represents Britain for that; Davis Cup (ITF) and Andy represents Britain for that. Football or tiddlywinks might be different but that's tennis - he's British. We'll leave it to Andy, he is a proud Scot and a proud Brit and HE doesn't take it as an insult. End of.

Some of Judy's Tweeted photos:
Job done, celebrating coming home from Paris

The golden letterbox
Most of the credit goes to these 2
Imagine producing 2 world number ones - And1e and Jam1e
Not taking a selfie but this photo

Andy has received nice tributes already from Wimbledon, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and a lot of his fellow professionals
