Give me Annecy over the Dordogne any day. Annecy is very 'international'.

I think the stigma with the Dordogne is more Brit on Brit like other such places in France. The French moved out years ago.

You really need to get an abandoment with EFFIA if you are travelling to Montpannase everyday by TGV. I think it is 70 Euros...

The OP is only going to live there in the summer. If you don't have a car it is quite a good option on (lets be clear) a very tight budget.
