You can drive immediately, say a rental on your UK licence (assuming you have one) on arrival.
From my experience moving to MA, from what I remember you need a soc sec number first (2-3 weeks)

Sounds like city life all over the world.
My experience of the 'burbs' in MA is people are miles friendlier than in central UK.

In the UK we could get away with shopping at one of the major supermarkets for weeks without needing to visit another. In MA we went to many more stores more regularly; Stop and Shop for general,...

I used Hotspot shield and every few months the Beeb would suss out the IP's and I'd let Hotspot know (along with some others) and they'd change the IP's and off we'd go again. They have a lifetime...
