Every time I get a VPN or a Smart DNS set up the Beeb blocks it. So much for free unrestricted and neutral access.

Given the numbers abroad watching UK TV. There will be work around's and smarter DNS's coming.

For time its just a pain in the rear to keep swapping my providers.

I know, it's almost as if they don't want people stealing their things.

Why aren't you using britbox?

Britbox has OK content but not the news and some of the latest stuff.

TunnelBear worked pretty well for me during the last Great British Bake Off, but that was all I used it for. Latterly the show it was available through youtube without using the vpn.

Just a thought though - if you have accessed the BBC iplayer site without the VPN/DNS, then they will have set a cookie that knows you are in the USA. If you subsequently try to access the iplayer then inspite of using vpn/dns they know you are in the USA. Clear your cookies or use incognito and see if that helps.

BritBox is certainly a lot cheaper than the service we are using, although ours is live across virtually every channel and radio station.

As petitefrancaise said clear out your 'cache' on your web browser each time before launching one of the VPN's. Nothing has changed it still works fine here.

If it is live UK news you want, you can watch sky news easily in the US.

Because everyone knows that Sky News coverage is every bit as good as reporting by the BBC.

You can also get a lot of the BBC radio stations via streaming quite easily.

However Foxnews is no more in the UK. Says a lot about the UK population.

I wasn't debating if it was better or worse, it's an easily available option for national UK news. If you want local news that is more difficult.

Because there's no channel 4/5 programmes & my vpn costs less for everything.

I recently had to clear my cache when iPlayer stopped. I'm looking forward to the return of Dr Foster.
