Tylenol is a brand name. JG is right - the "generic" name in the US and UK is different , the drug in Tylenol is acetaminophen, which is the same as paracetamol.

...and Aleve = Naproxen, Miralax = Movicol and Budweiser = urine.

It is rare that a generic drug is marketed under only one brand, so while Aleve contains naproxen, naproxen is available under many other brand names too, including: Accord, Anaprox, Antalgin, Apranax, Maxidol, Nalgesin, Naposin, Naprelan, Naprogesic, Naprosyn, Pronaxen, Proxen, Soproxen, Synflex, and MotriMax, among a number of others.

Not sure if you can get 10% ibuprofen gel over the counter in US as you can in UK

so I popped into Costco today, to take something back and just buy milk ( yeah right!!). I noticed that they have a very nice box of Godiva chocs listed as "Christmas 2017".

Costco does a very palatable own-brand Belgian chocolate assortment. Not quite Neuhaus, but excellent for the price. They also have a good tin of Belgian chocolate biscuits.

If you're going to be here for Christmas, and want to make a Christmas Cake. Bring enough blocks of marzipan for your cake, along with mixed spice and candied peel. Unless you're the type that'll make all that stuff from scratch. If you find it here, you'll pay through the nose for it.
Good luck with the move. Love New York!

It might not be helpful but here are the things I bring back to NYC from dear old Blighty:
Cadbury chocolate (The real stuff); Beechams powders; my favourite scotch (not sold outside UK), and; paxo sage and onion stuffing mix.
I wouldn't bother with Branston pickle, HP sauce etc as these can be bought in some supermarkets in NYC.
If you are missing home comforts then Butcher Block in Queens and Myers in Manhattan (Manhattan prices! ) are good places to visit.
Hope you enjoy your time here.

Since you will be residing in Manhattan a/k/a NYC you can take the Metro North train from Grand Central to Woodlawn in the Bronx. A nice clean and safe neighborhood btw. Walk five blocks up to McLean Avenue, Yonkers (Woodlawn is part Bronx, part Yonkers) turn left and go another 3 blocks to Butcher's Fancy.
You can get your British food items there, Bird's custard, Paxo, Bisto, Cadbury's, Roses, Hob Nobs, etc. as well as black or white pudding, sausage, etc. and at decent prices. Have lunch at one of the lovely pubs (sorry but they are Irish pubs) or small cafes that dot the avenue before taking your goodies home.
The Butcher's Fancy | Your No. 1 Stop for Irish Meats & Groceries
And if Butcher's Fancy doesn't have it, you will find it next door at Veronica's Deli.

In my experience...Irish pubs in the US cannot begin to compare to British pubs. They are not pubs...but bars.

I won't know the difference between a bar or a pub in Ireland or the UK having never been to either place. Just know the American pub/bar has the soccer or rugby games blaring from the many sets hanging off the walls, the accents are thick brogues and the smell of beer is heavy in the air. But, damn, the food is good.

Can only think of one decent Irish styled Bar, usually best to avoid.
