Re: My Naturalization Journey

I went for my interview yesterday. I really didn't get asked any questions besides the test questions and going through my application once again. He looked if he had all documents he needed (he...

Re: AOS for GC as "out of status" individual

Thank you so much Ian.

I understand what you're saying with stepping away and I'm not using your answers as legal help for her, she has an attorney (for now just for immigration).
She is living...

Re: AOS for GC as "out of status" individual

So... don't judge me for being here for my friend again... the unavoidable (from my perspective) happened: she (after exactly 1 year of marriage) left him yesterday after him physically abusing her...

Re: IAS v getting the car I'd really like

Pulaski described it perfectly. It is firmer, driving corners/curves is more direct than with the other suspension.

Actually, it's funny you mention it, but I get car sick in every other car but...

Re: IAS v getting the car I'd really like

Interior and looks for me.
I didn't want anything with wood trim, but I wanted heated AND cooled front seats.
Black on black (so mine is black :D ) just has something classy. The Platinum's door...

Re: Starting new job - Cond. Green Card expired

Noorah, Ian,

Thanks so much for the help! I was thinking I read before that they are legally not allowed to ask for specific documents, but wanted to make sure.

Thanks again!

Re: IAS v getting the car I'd really like

I drive a 2016 Ford Explorer Sport. Had to decide on a new car within 4 hours, because old one gave up and I needed something asap. I never regretted the purchase even one second.

It drives like a...

Hello all!

Long story short: I'll be laid off at the end of the week, but have a job offer on the table since yesterday (YAY).

Re: Travelling from the US to the UK with Maiden name Passport

If a question like that comes up again, just call the airline and not expedia.

I had a great experience with United Airlines calling them about the exact same issue. My problem though was, that I...

Re: I-751: Online Status Check?

Just wanted to comment on this.
The I-751 status is not visible online, but I got the CRI-89 added to my cases. I googled and it seems to be the biometrics portion of it. I'm not sure if it will be...

Re: 7 or 8 seater SUV- any recommendations?

Now that you mention it: I was at the AutoShow two weeks ago and yes, I was actually surprised that the Expedition doesn't have that much more space. It is about 1ft-1 1/2 more, but not that...

Re: 7 or 8 seater SUV- any recommendations?

I drive a 2016 Explorer Sport and if you have a lot of people travelling with you (meaning, using the third row a lot) then I wouldn't get the Explorer.
The third row is first of narrower and also...

Re: I-751: Online Status Check?

No worries.

No, I didn't send in my green card, it's still valid and you should have it on you at all times ;)
They just want a copy of front and back, but it also says that in the instructions.

Re: I-751: Online Status Check?

Okay that makes sense, even though, since they have this portal already, they could also just upload all application, but oh well :)

Thank you!

I-751: Online Status Check?

Hi all!

Does anyone know if the status of the I-751 will be viewable on the USCIS online portal?
I can see my former petitions/applications, but I was wondering if the I-751 will show up there...

Actually, I didn't. I only got the above message yesterday, so it's not too late for anything. ;)

Re: British Citizen working in US

I had two J-1 visas through Cultural Vistas and while they seem to be a bigger organization that does J-1s a lot, it also depends which case worker you get. I had a very responsive one the first...

I did it by myself, adjusted from J-1 and got my green card with no problems.
Every time I was unsure, I asked here and got fast and...

Re: Hiring process duration?

It's weird, isn't it?
That's why I normally say (if someone asks me how an interview went) that I cannot really judge, since more often than not I got the offer after thinking an interview went bad...

Re: So just how many miles do you do a year?

Bought car in June 2015, has now 20,500miles on it. so about 12-14,000 per year.
And hubby's car another 10-12,000 per year.
