Re: Customs form C-3?

Thanks, the detailed guidance gave me directions! I couldn't find that myself - only the form :/ I feel stupid now.

Re: when a British passport gets scanned

One key is also to check that the photo on the chip (essentially impossible to tamper with) matches the printed photo.

Customs form C-3?

If I am not shipping anything and have nothing I will owe tax on, do I still need to complete customs form C-3 and go through the red channel to declare the items I am moving to the UK?

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

Forget the USA, I'm more worried for you about Canada and Australia...

Re: Don't die In New Jersey as a green card holder !

The press twists things, I doubt Switzerland will leave Schengen. They benefit too much. I imagine there will be stricter controls on who is allowed to stay - live and work - in Switzerland... which...

Re: Don't die In New Jersey as a green card holder !

It is? Schengen is about abolition of border controls if I understand correctly, nothing to do with who is allowed to live and work and buy property, no? I knew they were planning immigration...

Re: Don't die In New Jersey as a green card holder !

Call me ignorant if you will, but how would leaving Schengen affect housing prices as long as the free movement treaties remain in place?

P.S. Is this a reference to the Swiss immigration...

Re: Don't die In New Jersey as a green card holder !

WHAT? Switzerland is leaving Schengen? Why can't I find this anywhere?

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

But why? Wouldn't you want to be able to tell the court your side if your freedom of travel and career choice were at stake? Not your lawyer tell it, tell it yourself...

I never said people should...

Re: Ticket booked / thoughts on return

Interesting, as I'd say myself and my cousin are the two of our family here who really... don't have a solid career plan.

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

MDMA isn't weed, no. But it sure isn't heroin either! But I don't want to be the one to drag a thread off into politics, so I won't comment on my feelings on the fact it's illegal in the first place....

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

And that's my concern for the OP, if he loses his right to a trial, then surely a minor, meaningless, victimless crime will mean that he is de-facto banned from ever entering the US again? Seems...

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

1. The link I posted said nothing about needing to be accused of terrorism to be assured a right to a fair trial, rather it was about the concern that those accused of terrorism haven't been given a...

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

That's not only a US Constitutional right though, it's a UN right:

Right to Fair Trial - Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (http://www.un.org/en/terrorism/ctitf/proj_righttotrial.shtml)

Re: ESTA's, Criminal Records in the States, and B visas.

What? So what happened to the right to a fair trial? If they don't allow you to attend such trial (and, presumably, find you both guilty and in contempt of court for not attending)?

Ticket booked / thoughts on return

I was born in the US to a British mother, and I'm moving (back, I suppose, as I did spend part of my childhood in the UK) on May 29. I am graduating from university in the US in mid-May and starting...

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

Not at all. The PIN is completely separate from address verification (which ZIP code verification is part of).

The PIN is a four-digit (can be longer, but not in the US that I've ever seen - in...

Re: Deer Tick Bite

Agreed, but that's why GSK needs to be petitioned to re-introduce the vaccine. Possibly, make it a childhood recommended vaccine in parts of the northeast US - that would both improve vaccine...

On the first point - controversial because it is a terrible idea for the good of humanity. Ever heard the phrase "post-antibiotic era?" Hopefully, it remains merely theoretical, however every...

Re: british national question on passport application

Yes, apply for them all. Also, make sure you get a copy of the ID page of your countersignatory's passport, that part isn't totally clear.

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

I highly doubt what they said is actually true, I imagine a chip and signature card would work fine, so ask your American bank for a chip card.

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

This is correct, the "cash advance PIN" is just an online-verified PIN. I'm glad Citi understands this, Bank of America tells people any transaction using it will be treated as a cash advance, which...

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

Am I the only one having major issues with my Delta Gold Amex at Walmart? Not sure what'll happen when I'm back in the UK in 3 weeks and 5 days...

It works fine with the Ingenico terminals used in...

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

Thankfully, this is 99% nonsense. Listen closely - they didn't say "will" - they said "may."

The Chase Sapphire Preferred does NOT officially support PIN for purchases - that is, PIN is only in...

Re: Delta Amex and EMV chips... Target too.

Most chip cards have a list of preferred cardholder verification methods and it goes down the list until there is one the terminal supports. The big exception to this is US-issued AmEx which have no...
