They need to keep your passport to put the visa in it. We got ours back within 7 days of our interview - that was over 2 years ago.

Nope. We had the biometrics appointment 10 days after the application was submitted. That was the only thing we had to attend.

Our GC/AOS paperwork was filed 3rd March 2015 - EB1? (not sure what final digit was) - through Texas Service Centre.

We were approved on 27th Aug 2015

We are here in Texas with teenage sons, so have looked into University resident requirements - below is a direct quote i found on University of Houston website - but will apply to all Texas colleges....

From my own personal experience, no.

In the UK we paid less than 40 GBP per month for one car and 1 4wd, here we pay $200 per month for almost the exact same style vehicles. I am in Katy, Texas....

Our 4 bed rental in Katy is $3500 per month with no pool, you could pay much higher for one with a pool. You will find that rental prices are higher when the homes or zoned to the more "desirable"...
