Re: National Insurance Contributions - How do you pay?

Anyone have any concerns it will be means tested in the future? I won't be collecting mine for another 25 years and worry that anything I pay in now I won't be eligible to collect if it was means...

Re: NI contributions and catch up

Means testing is also worrying me and at this time the reason I'm still debating making catch up VC's to add to the 11 years I have already. I won't start to receive payments for many years to come....

Re: Using you all as sounding board if you don't mind?

[QUOTE=Sally Redux;11185605] Is work environment really going to be worse?

[QUOTE]

I don't know to be honest? But it will be different I would think and that could be another stress.

Re: Using you all as sounding board if you don't mind?

Does anyone know what they want in 40 years? All I can do is try to paint the best picture, warts and all, of what challenges she will face:

Driving or not and that loss of independence if she...

Re: Using you all as sounding board if you don't mind?

Thanks for the comments guys. Going back now would be a little foolish I think given I am half way through my MBA and though my credits will transfer to a UK institution the logistics of finishing it...

Re: Using you all as sounding board if you don't mind?

I was thinking about letting them live their lives out with us in the US, where in my post does it suggest we would put them down? I'd never even consider that, ever, ever, ever.

Why concerned...

Re: Using you all as sounding board if you don't mind?

Reason for moving back....to be...

Re: NI contributions and catch up

I'm almost thinking this might be the safest option. I think if I can pay class 2 I will do it, if not then I won't bother and just use my own funds to finance my retirement.
