Re: Advice on Belgium

You will need to register at the local council for both you and your son if you intend to stay any longer than 3 months. And unless you can get a temporary stay visa you will likely have to get a...

Re: Where is a safe place to buy property in Southern Europe?

I think the bigger question is why do you want to buy property?

Is it for an investment, holiday home or do you actually want to live there and make it a home?
If the latter then you can safely...

They thrive not even an hour away at our place.

Re: Carrefour

Veg is pretty good here, we generally go to a local farm and can buy a weeks worth of excellent quality veg for 6 or 7 euros, normally it's not even that much if I'm honest.
The tomatoes are the...

We have an English, German, French, Mexican, Chinese, USA, Romanian(I think), Latino, Indian. I may be missing a couple though.

Re: Is there a list of places that EU citizens can "freely" migrate to?

It doesn't really work that way though, as Mitzy boy uses Spain as an example most countries in the EU have a similar sort of process, maybe not all, you'd have to research that.
While in essence...

Re: Would you buy now?

We got it from the bank direct, two banks actually but seeing as we are with Sabadell I can positively report that is what we were told and is the current standing.

Deposit, fees, income weren't...

Re: Would you buy now?

Well, this is probably true and we are yet to be offered anything from the bank, not through lack of asking but they so far have said look at the public website.
It's all well and good but it's all...

Re: Would you buy now?

I guess it all depends on what someone wants. No doubt it is best to shop around banks and see just what they can offer you, if we were seriously wanting to buy then that's what we'd do but I have no...

Re: Would you buy now?

I wouldn't have an issue buying now but it doesn't mean we will. If I could say with any certainty that we will still be here in 10 or 15 years then it wouldn't be a question, we'd buy.

Not having...

Re: advice please re UK tv in Spain

I'm not saying I disagree with you, TDT is alright. Clan has really been good as far as the kids are concerned but I find it hard to find any informative shows, I miss the doco's on the bbc channels,...

Re: advice please re UK tv in Spain

Exactly, In Belgium we had all the BBCs although they split it up throughout the packages so you had to get one of the premium ones to combine them.
I'd gladly pay similar for canal+ if they did the...

Re: advice please re UK tv in Spain

Well I suppose it beats paying to have it illegally.
Are the VPNs people subscribe to paying their royalties to sky?

The quality is rough, the streams are unstable but it's certainly a way you...

Re: 3 Month Registration - Staff not being so helpful

Re: 3 Month Registration - Staff not being so helpful

No it's alright, I'm permanently confused these days and to be honest that's the info we had heard too.

We went to the phone house to get our phones and contract and the guy said that you don't...

Re: Internet in the campo alternatives

With 18 down and 5 up that should be fine for resolution, as you say you need to wait for the other person when using skype which is doable but our provider doesn't give us anywhere near those speeds...

I find it hard to recommend satellite unless you absolutely have no choice, I can't speak for tooway however so maybe they are better.
We have a 22GB allowance which frankly is a pittance, forget...
