It doesn't make much difference e-file versus local office filing, many local offices are now sending AOS, EAD and AP straight to the MSC. This is what happened to us, and I find it most disturbing...

It's very rare that you would have to refile, you can request a 'reconstruct' of your case after 90 days - that normally yeilds results, like in our case, they follow the paper trail of the petition...

All USC have to file tax returns every year, regardless of the fact that they may have no taxable income ... I believe there are stiff penalties for failing to file tax returns. Ridiculous taxation...
