Hi All,
I really hope someone can advise me on what to do. I applied for AOS, EAD and a Travel Document (I previously had a fiancé visa) back on February12. The Atlanta local office passed all our applications to the Missouri overflow service centre. We had planned on going back to the UK for a religious wedding ceremony and reception in May, and expected to get my travel document last week. However, the MSC have stopped processing and our congressman says they are swamped and is trying to find out if they will resume processing anytime soon. So that leaves me with the option of going to the local office to request an emergency travel document. Can anyone tell me what our chances of sucess are and what they would consider an emergency? We also just found out that my mother needs surgery and will need someone (me) there to look after her after she gets out of hospital. Would this be justification for an emergency travel document? I'm at my wits end, I need to get back home in May, can anyone advise?

Well, I went to the Atlanta Local Office this morning and they told me that even if I could document a Medical Emergency, they could not issue an Emergency Advance Parole from the Atlanta Office because my AOS papers are in Missouri (because they sent them there!). They were sympathetic and suggested I call the National Service Centre 1800 number. She said they should be able to help me. As if. Has anyone out there ever gotten a staright answer from those call centre people? They can only tell you what you already know and give the wrong info all the time. So, I can't leave the US.....I am so sick of this, I have no rights. Just an update for anyone dealing with the Atlanta Local Office who might need Advance Parole in an emergency.

Actually I have received some good advice from them. Unfortunately I have also received bad advice from the "officials". This forum is a big part of my decision making processes because
( trolls excluded) it is based on realities.
In the end you read the proceedure or law ask questions and just put everything in the recipe and hope for sucess. There is no guarentee of doing it correct the first time.
Good luck,
Tony and Angela
