Re: 1 year Masters degree in Canada

Hi,

I'm currently doing a 1 year, thesis based MA at Dalhousie (though reading some of these comments I wish I wasn't ) May be worth a look at their website if you are still interested.

Re: Best Company to use to ship items from the UK

I wouldn't recommend PSS. I genuinely feel they fleeced us. Charged us for a lot extra because their estimators don't understand how the packers work. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Re: Education, education, education (in NS)

Thanks Andie. I appreciate the response. I, too, was a secondary school teacher for 11 years before coming to Canada (and have the grey hairs to prove it!) Like yourself, I was also born in the...

Re: Education, education, education (in NS)

Thanks again for the responses. I am hoping his teacher will be somewhat more task driven next year and I will continue to do what I can with him at home. My son isn't a genius, and yet I don't...

Re: Education, education, education (in NS)

Thanks for your thoughts. I guess I'm just going to have to keep plugging away at home and hope it helps. I'm pretty sure I've got a reputation at the school for being a pain in the proverbial, but...

Re: Education, education, education (in NS)

Thanks for the response. I can see this becoming a major issue for me. I just feel there is no solution. I do work with him at home, but time is limited and I don't want him just working all the...

Education, education, education (in NS)

Hi,

Feeling a bit blurgh at the moment as I've upset my 7 year old by telling him I think he should move school. We've been in NS just over a year and he's at his second school which, quite...

Re: Nova Scotia places similar to BC Gulf Islands but with people

Sorry, not been through a Summer yet. We've heard that there are a few weeks in May where the blackfly are a biatch! We have also been told that they tend to be in some areas more than others,...

Re: Nova Scotia places similar to BC Gulf Islands but with people

Hi,

I haven't been here (NS) for long, but am happy to tell you about the different areas we've looked at. PM me if I can help. We are looking to settle in Dartmouth, which is fairly well...

Re: Packing, shipping and Marine Insurance questions

We used PSS and got stung because of their inaccurate estimator. I would be very wary of anyone who is so non-specific. It was bad enough for us when we thought we'd gone with a company who knew...

Re: Nova Scotia insurance companies.

We've used Bell and Grant for commercial insurance and they were excellent. I'm currently on the search for decent health and dental insurance if anyone has any suggestions. :)

Re: Horrible Moving experience: White and Co

We had problems with PSS, or rather we had problems with their estimating and what it actually cost. They were way out, which meant we were way out of pocket. I would really struggle to know who to...

Re: Problem with NatWest please help

Hi,

I'm not pretending to know anything about banking, but I know they must have a relevant ombudsman and regulatory body. Would it help to contact them? Just a thought.

Good luck

Out of interest, is it Toronto you are planning on heading to? Apologies if you've already said where you're going.

Re: Shipping - I'm so mad

Thanks for your post. Our problem really seems to have been the estimator, but you live and learn. It just seems that you hire these people because you think they know what they are doing and then...

Well, I promised to update you so here goes. Went to BARs and went to mediation (the gentleman that worked on our case was great). Anyway, PSS made a paltry offer and I thought a compromise would...
